The G20 Global Summit of Young Entrepreneurs has opened, with a Chinese business delegation invited to attend.

The 2024 G20 Global Summit for Young Entrepreneurs recently opened in Brazil, with a Chinese delegation of entrepreneurs invited to attend. Under the theme “Connecting Cultures, Fostering Business,” the summit hosted more than 40 cross‑border dialogue and exchange sessions on diverse topics, aiming to strengthen solidarity and collaboration among young entrepreneurs worldwide, build a high‑quality, sustainable business environment, and inject new vitality into global economic development.

During the conference, Marcelo Baiocchi, Vice President of the National Confederation of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Brazil, stated: “As the host of the 2024 G20 series of meetings, Brazil welcomes distinguished delegates from around the world and looks forward to working hand in hand with all nations to bridge diverse cultures, advance international cooperation, and build a just world and a sustainable society.” The National Confederation of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Brazil is the country’s largest official economic organization, representing more than 70% of Brazil’s GDP and over 65% of its workforce. Vishal Agarwalla, Rotating Chair of the Global Board of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (hereinafter referred to as G20YEA), Chair of the 2023 G20YEA Global Summit, and Chair of the Young Entrepreneurs Committee of the Federation of Indian Industries, remarked: “2024 has been a year of significant progress for G20YEA. We welcome the African Union as its 21st full member, as well as observer organizations from Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, and other countries. Congratulations on the successful opening of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Global Summit in Brazil.”

During the summit, the G20 YEA China delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges with delegates from various countries, showcasing China’s distinctive style and amplifying its voice, while also successfully hosting the G20 YEA “China Night” gala. The Chinese delegation invited the G20 YEA Secretary-General to participate in these discussions, fostering meaningful dialogue and infusing the summit with a vibrant “Chinese flair” centered on the themes of “Harmony” and “Collaboration.”

As the torch of the G20 YEA Global Summit was passed from Brazil, the 2024 host country, to South Africa, the 2025 host, a captivating South African dance performance by young dancer Masingita Shibambu graced the closing ceremony. Innocentia Motau, Chair of the G20 YEA in South Africa and President of the South African Young Entrepreneurs Association, extended a warm invitation to the world: “Let’s meet again in South Africa in 2025.” The summit drew to a close amid vibrant African dances and heartfelt hospitality.

The G20 serves as a key platform for governments to offer recommendations on business, entrepreneurship, and innovation policies. According to the 2015 Policy Report of the G20 SME and Entrepreneurship Working Group, the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance represents over one million young entrepreneurs worldwide. Each year, the Alliance hosts a Global Summit in the host country of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, where participants engage in in-depth discussions on global business trends and opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, working together to advance the cause of youth-driven innovation around the world.
